Snorri Sturluson

Senior Producer

Snorri is the Senior Producer. His passion is to see great ideas come to life in whatever way, shape or form they can be expressed.

His Background

Snorri co-founded Mr. Destiny, which established the internationally renowned Iceland Airwaves festival, sponsored by Iceland Air. It continues to grow as the largest music showcase in Iceland. As VP of Thule Musik and Thule Studios, he has been a producer, collaborator, manager, DJ and MC on critically acclaimed projects for such artists as Björk, Gus Gus and Sigur Rós.

From managing music labels, bands, events and festivals he crossed over into advertising. Prior to joining thread®, Snorri managed the brands FUBU, Kappa and Camus as an art director, designer and producer. His artful background makes him a heck of a producer in new and old media, and he is a formidable presence in the digital arena. Check out his latest design at MavericksSurf.com. In addition to Senior Producer, Snorri also acts as Music Director on the production of TV Spots, finding or creating audio tracks to complement the concept.

Snorri often talks about growing up in Iceland with just one TV station that broadcast between 6:30pm and 9:30pm 6 days a week, and not at all in July. What’s that got to do with anything? Probably nothing. But it could explain why his family is a bunch of hooligans. They trace their roots back to the Nordic gods, all of them. We checked.

Other facts about Snorri:

  • The only singer he can imitate is Bob Dylan.
  • He’s missed more flights from Isafjörður than anyone in recorded history.
  • In 1993 he made a surprise vocal appearance with the French group "Les Ejects." He does not speak a word of French and had never heard the band before.
  • Snorri is known throughout Reykjavik as "Samuel L. Jackson." We thought he was kidding. He’s not.
